Job Title - Corporate Claims Adjuster
Department: Corporate Claims
Reports to: V.P. of Client Services

Job Functions

  • Handling claims for all Nelson Westerberg locations and all Nelson Westerberg Van Operators.
  • Entering claims and working in the Claims Management System in Atlas
  • Notifying all involved parties including van operators, other agents, 3rd party companies
  • Working with sales people, coordinators, and GM's from all locations on account specific claims
  • Assigning repair firm's to make repairs or coordinate finding replacement items
  • Preparing settlement offers to customer which may include denials of items
  • Working with Atlas Claims Department directly on all Interstate move related claims
  • Communication with 3rd party companies on services performed
  • Reviewing liability and protesting claims handled by other Atlas agents
  • Supporting claims department with answering all phone calls and emails
  • All other duties as assigned

Job Title:      Claims Specialist Department: Claims Office: Locations FL, NJ, VA or TX

DESCRIPTION / JOB SUMMARY - The candidate will be responsible for Investigating and processing household goods claims in a timely manner. Recovery of contractual subrogation monies from carriers if applicable to insurance contracts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review each claim and decide actions necessary to investigate and process the claim in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Utilize the service of preferred repair firm service providers for the assessment of damages.
  • Work with moving companies to obtain inventories and documents, and to trace for missing items.
  • Settle the claim by working directly with the customer.
  • Recover monies from the moving companies for claims that have a subrogation component.
  • Work with daily reports to keep track of and manage claims that are currently in process.
  • Document each action that takes place on a claim in a database that allows client contacts to monitor the progress of the claim.
  • Assist with the work of absent colleagues, as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years in a claims or customer service position
  • Excellent verbal, written and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Strong attention to details
  • Manage high work volume, at times
  • Ability to organize for efficiency and be able to multitask
  • Ability to make quick decisions
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Good negotiating skills
  • PC experience required, including data entry, Word and Excel
  • Obtain adjuster’s license in those states requiring licensing EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
